Entering the Christel House India campus, visitors are greeted with bold, colorful artwork. But the painting isn’t confined to traditional canvases. Beautiful murals fill walls and stairways. Even trees on campus become works of art. Using safe and natural paints, students from the Art and Eco clubs teamed up for the annual paint project. “We teach our students that art is everywhere,” says Dhanaraj Keezhara, Head of the Art and Visual Media Department at Christel House India. The student artists create designs and work in teams. They commit hours during art class, give up recess breaks, and even sacrifice weekends to paint. Dhanaraj is proud of their passion. “Teaching outside of classrooms, we create an awareness amongst them of art in everyday life, and help them connect with nature, their surroundings and community.”
