Parents are an important component of the Christel House India model. Regular parent-teacher workshops involve parents in their child's development, creating a parent-teacher team that works together for the best interests of the child. Community programmes on hygiene and illness prevention are offered by medical professionals. Christel House India – Bangalore partners with ACCEPT, an NGO that educates people about HIV & AIDS, to establish a community awareness programme.
As their contribution to the education of their child, parents are asked to volunteer 40 hours at the school annually. They assist with gardening, cooking and laundry services. A thrift movement teaches parents the importance and habit of saving. Christel House India has helped dozens of parents secure employment, thus enabling them to have a secure monthly income.
I am happy my son is at Christel House. He studies well and is well-behaved. He asks his father and me to be cordial with each other at home. I feel proud that he is taught about right and wrong.
