THE CHRISTEL
HOUSE MODEL

Holistic Support for Lifelong Success

We believe that unlocking potential of students from underserved communities requires holistic support beyond the classroom. That’s why our model provides comprehensive, long-term support, nurturing every aspect of a child’s life, from classroom to career. This whole-child approach ensures that our students not only succeed academically but also thrive emotionally, socially, and professionally.

HOLISTIC EDUCATION

RIGOROUS
ACADEMICS

Our students come from backgrounds where education has often been out of reach. Most parents have little or no formal education, and children face numerous challenges on their learning journey. At Christel House India, we ensure that these hurdles do not discourage our students by embracing creative and innovative teaching-learning methods, making learning engaging and accessible. As students progress, the curriculum steadily introduces greater academic rigour, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resilience needed to excel in their chosen careers.

Our medium of instruction is English, with children beginning to learn the language from Kindergarten. To promote multilingual proficiency, Hindi, Sanskrit and Kannada are also integral parts of the curriculum.

We place equal emphasis on co-curricular activities, ensuring every child’s growth is holistic and enriching. From exploring creativity through arts and crafts to building confidence in music, yoga, and physical education, our students immerse themselves in diverse experiences. They dive into technology in the IT Club, unleash their imagination in the Art Club, and sharpen their minds through interschool competitions, field trips, and educational excursions.  With opportunities like science and math olympiads, quizzes, and literary festivals, every activity is designed to inspire, challenge, and empower students to discover their passions and unlock their potential.

This comprehensive exposure not only enhances their academic journey but also helps them discover their talents, build confidence, and develop into well-rounded individuals ready to thrive in all areas of life.

Nutrition & Health Care

HEALTHY MINDS
& BODIES

Christel House prioritises comprehensive healthcare for all students, offering preventive and curative medical services including hearing, vision, dermatology, dental care, immunisations and follow-up treatments through a network of hospital partners. All children are immunised according to WHO standards.

Newly enrolled students at Christel House undergo a comprehensive physical examination, as many arrive facing challenges like malnutrition and other health issues. With access to proper nutrition, regular healthcare, and ongoing support, they regain their health and vitality within a year.

Every student is provided with daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, and an evening snack with milk. These meals meet 75-80% of a child’s nutritional needs, ensuring they have the energy and focus required to learn and thrive. For many of our students, this is their primary source of nourishment, as access to proper nutrition at home is limited. These meals are the foundation for academic success, helping students stay healthy, attentive, and ready to achieve their dreams.

Our community service projects, allow students to apply their skills and values in real-world settings, helping them develop empathy, compassion, and appreciation for civic duty.

Career Development

PATHWAYS
TO SUCCESS

Our intensive career guidance programme prepare students to transition seamlessly from classrooms to the professional world. Career preparation begins in middle school with the JIVA program. From Grade 5 onwards, teachers and counsellors use scientific methodologies to track each student’s aptitude and interests, helping them explore their skills in alignment with future career interests. At the beginning of Grade 10, the College & Careers team drafts personalised career plans for every student, identifying suitable undergraduate courses based on their strengths and aspirations. By the time they complete Grade 12, all students have carefully developed and mapped their career plans, and also contingency plans where potential hurdles are foreseen.

SCHOLARSHIPS TO PURSUE TERTIARY EDUCATION

LONG TERM
SUPPORT

After Grade 12, students pursue full-time undergraduate programs at reputed universities, with scholarships paid directly to the colleges. Academic performance and attendance are regularly monitored to ensure continued success. FAMILY SUPPORT & COMMUNITY OUTREACH

STRENGTHENING
BONDS

We believe that supporting families is essential to creating lasting change. Through interactive workshops, we address key social and health issues while equipping parents and caregivers with the tools and skills to become better supporters of their children’s growth and success.

To deepen the connection between school and community, parents are encouraged to volunteer 40 hours per year at Christel House India. This active involvement fosters a stronger bond between families and the school, creating a supportive network for the students.

By empowering families, we not only uplift individual households but also strengthen the communities our students come from—fostering a cycle of growth, resilience, and sustainable positive change.
